Adjacent to MBK Centre, intertwining the cityscapes of Sathorn and Silom, the sustainable foundations of a new Bangkok can be found at Slowcombo. Once an abandoned warehouse with dwindling hope, the visionaries behind Slowcombo have transformed the venue into a dynamic hub of limitless opportunities. It is now an integrative commune available for rent and hosting events, bringing the city crowd the latest concepts, products, and trends in Thailand’s wellness scene.

Under the concept of a "Mindfulness Playground," Slowcombo’s mission is to invite city dwellers to slow down and relish the joy of nurturing their physical and mental health. “We aim to unite the old and new generations, encouraging them to mindfully pursue their passions in this vibrant city, making the journey both balanced and fun,” said Warich Fongamornkul, Business Development Director of Slowcombo.

The three floor, 3,000 sqm concrete cathedral, pinned in the city centre, had an auspicious launch year from June 2023 to June 2024. The complex is divided into three separate categories, with each floor representing a distinct philosophy.

Eat Wisely – embrace sustainable and well-balanced “slow food” –eating with awareness of origins, nutritional value, and cleanliness.

Live Slowly – slow down from the fast-paced modern world to lead a more sustainable, fulfilling and happy life. This means enjoying self-care and self-love activities, nurturing the mind, body, and spirit at one of Slowcombo’s eco-friendly and well-being stores.

Move Creatively – explore creative energy through various catered exhibitions, workshops, performances and more.

Slowcombo has established a new economic marketplace for like-minded businesses and individuals within just a year. This achievement is notably impressive, considering the challenge involved in launching any business, particularly on this scale. The rapid growth of their business over the past year underscores the dedication of the owners and team, highlighting their organisational skills and commitment to accomplishing their mission.

Over the past year, numerous events have exemplified their vision for a more sustainable and mindful future. Events such as the Barter System Fair and Clothing Swap, exhibit new and creative ways to trade goods within a circular economy, without monetary transactions.

In a groundbreaking initiative to foster open conversations and support for mental health, Slowcombo presented a pioneering mental health festival titled We're Being: We Exist (Together). This collaborative effort with THE NOOK by Love Frankie aimed to promote societal well-being through interactive experiences and practices, striving to enhance accessibility to mental healthcare for all.

Other highlights included The Miscellany of Khon, a Thai cultural event dedicated to preserving and celebrating Khon heritage through contemporary art. Additionally, HRH Princess Sirindhorn made an honourable appearance, emphasising their positive contributions to social and cultural initiatives.

Slowcombo commemorated its one-year anniversary with the Combo Hearts 1st Anniversary event on June 22, 2024, featuring a range of activities from self-love workshops, blind fortune tellers, to hand massage techniques, and the transformation of recycled plastic into art.

The highlight was the Sacred Sound Collective: A Symphony of Healing Vibration ceremony, which took over the entire first floor. Performing on the same day as the summer solstice, the event evoked a sense of calm and an encouraging openness for connection. This transformative experience offered a sound journey through the solar cosmic system –a 9-planetary excursion inviting participants to set aside their egos and explore inwardly, free from judgement.

An array of instruments was played including gongs, crystal bowls, wooden drums and wind instruments from indigenous Latin America. Temp Jiradt, the owner of KokoMary, a café and community space, was one of the musicians facilitating the sound journey. He commented, "[Through the event,] we would like the audience to become more aware, raise their consciousness, and embrace their creativity on this journey.”

For the upcoming year, Slowcombo will combine similar concepts with new events, including monthly night markets. Rental spaces and event opportunities are always evolving, but if you are looking for a venue to plant your roots, Slowcombo is a welcoming option.
